1. Information We Collect

When you subscribe or request a PDF, we collect your email address, subscription date, consent status, and the delivery records needed to operate the list. Email providers may also process events such as delivery, opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam complaints.

Folk Calm uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for page-view and performance information. Cloudflare describes this service as cookie-free and states that its Web Analytics product does not collect or use visitors' personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

Email and delivery information is used for:

• Delivering the free cultural guide you requested
• Sending new articles, subscriber PDFs, and occasional project updates
• Managing unsubscribes, failed addresses, and complaint suppression
• Reviewing aggregate delivery, open, and click performance

We do not sell or rent subscriber information. It is shared only with service providers needed to operate the website, send email, process payments, or comply with applicable obligations.

3. Email Service Providers

Folk Calm uses MailerLite to manage part of the subscriber list and send campaigns, and Resend to manage contacts and deliver transactional or campaign email. Depending on the mailing workflow, your email address and delivery activity may be stored and processed by one or both providers.

4. Purchases

Paid PDF purchases are processed by PayPal. Folk Calm does not receive your card or bank account details. We may receive the payer email address, transaction identifier, payment status, and other order information needed to confirm and deliver a purchase. PayPal processes payment data under its own privacy statement.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Unsubscribe — Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Use it or reply STOP to request removal from future emails.
• Access your data — Contact us to request a copy of the data we hold about you (your email address and subscription date).
• Delete your data — Contact us to request permanent deletion of your data from our email list.

6. GDPR Information (EU/EEA Visitors)

For visitors from the European Union and European Economic Area:

• We collect your email address only after you give explicit consent by checking the consent checkbox on our signup form
• The legal basis for processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR)
• You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing
• Email information may be processed by MailerLite and Resend as described above

7. California Privacy Information

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

8. Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
